First Lieutenant Aiden Ford is a fictional character in the 2004 Canadian-American Sci-Fi Channel television series Stargate Atlantis. He is a member of a combined civilian and military team exploring another galaxy via a network of alien transportation devices.
Ford is a regular in season one, and appears in a recurring role in season two. He appears once in a dream sequence in the season five premiere episode Search and Rescue. He later reappears in the official continuation novel Stargate Atlantis Legacy: The Third Path in which his ultimate fate is revealed.

Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard is a fictional character in the 2004 Canadian-American military science fiction television series Stargate Atlantis. He is portrayed by Joe Flanigan and is the second-in-command of the Atlantis Expedition. Sheppard is a skilled soldier and pilot, and he is often the one who leads the team on dangerous missions. He is also a bit of a maverick, and he often does things his own way. But despite his flaws, Sheppard is a valuable asset to the Atlantis Expedition, and he is always willing to put his life on the line to protect his friends and family.
