Shimakaze
Shimakaze is a destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was laid down on 19 July 1934, launched on 15 November 1935, and commissioned on 15 April 1937. Shimakaze was the last of the Fubuki-class destroyers, and was the most advanced destroyer in the world at the time of her commissioning.
Shimakaze participated in several major battles during World War II, including the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the Philippine Sea, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. She was also present at the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay on 2 September 1945.
